There’s never been a better time to get your ink: An Oak Grove studio will help make your tattoo matter by supporting veterans with PTSD afford a service dog.

For the third year, Hell or High Water Tattoo Shop will host Inked for a Cause, with half of all proceeds going to the QC Project.

“Not only do they do this every February, they provide thousands of dollars in free tattoos every year to support the QC Project, which is amazing in itself,” said QC Project founder Michael Myers.

About the QC Project

QC Project, or the Quigg & Callender Project, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit. It was founded by Michael Myers and named after Cody “Cowboy” Quigg, and John Callender, two of Myers’ friends, who were also veterans, who died by suicide.

“Some dream of being heroes. Others relive it in their nightmares,” Myers said.

The group’s mission is to raise awareness of PTSD and veteran suicide while also benefiting local veterans by paying for classes for their dogs to become service animals.

In the last three years, QC Project has trained 13 dogs for veterans in Middle Tennessee. Training for service dogs usually costs around $10,000 and takes about two years to complete.

QC Project currently has two dogs in training, and they are looking for additional businesses that can help sponsor a veteran.
