So, what is PDI? They are a nonprofit charitable organization established 45 years ago that provides services for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. PDI has expanded to 12 counties in Middle Tennessee and, with a staff of 430, supports more than 1,000 individuals.

The organization helps those affected by developmental disabilities attain personal success through gaining pride, dignity and independence. They offer a number of programs including early intervention services, employment services, residential services, personal assistance services and more.

Hiring: direct support staff

One of their biggest employment needs is for direct support staff. These employees assist people with special needs to develop skills related to activities of daily living. With the support professional’s assistance, these individuals are able to live more active, involved lives in their communities.

PDI is hiring full and part-time employees for these roles to work flexible schedules. All experience levels are encouraged to apply, and training is provided.

Full-time benefits include paid holidays, vacation and sick time, health, dental and life insurance. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license. PDI will require a clean drug screen and background check.

Job fair on Thursday

PDI is planning a job fair on Thursday, Dec. 9, from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. where those interested can apply for a variety of jobs and shifts. The job fair will be at the PDI Adult Day Center, 170 W. Dunbar Cave Road.

Applicants can meet people who can answer questions and hire on the spot. They will be conducting interviews and offering a sign-on bonus!
