Do you miss your glory days playing on the sandlot as a kid, or do you wish you could give baseball another try as an adult?
Then we’ve got the league for you: The Clarksville Adult Baseball League is about to hold evaluations to figure out teams for the 2023 season. The evaluations will include drills for basic hitting and fielding, plus pitching and catching for those specializations. Bats and gloves will be provided to those who need them.
The league was able to field two teams last year, after being dormant for two years due to COVID.
“When I was given the opportunity to re-establish the league, I jumped at it,” said Christopher Broadrick, league owner. “It is truly refreshing to see people come together and enjoy this game we love, baseball.”

This year, they’re looking to add two more teams, for a total of four. They play on Sunday afternoons, from May through August, at Northwest High School, and the league is open to both men and women.
Don’t be intimidated to join in the fun: They’re looking for players at all skill levels and ages, as long as you’re an adult. It’s a well-rounded league that includes former college and high school players from all walks of life.
“We were all strangers when it started with one thing in common, we love baseball,” said Trevor Webb, team manager of the Clarksville Bucks. “We compete together and became teammates and friends. Now we have friendships that go far beyond the baseball diamond.”
The Bucks compete against the Clarksville Spartans, who have won the championship three times in a row.
“With the addition of two more teams, the title will definitely be contested,” Broadrick said.

Evaluations will be March 4 and 5 from 2-5 p.m. at Northwest High School, 800 Lafayette Road.
Attendance isn’t mandatory; if you can’t make it, reach out to the league. The fee to play is $300, which includes uniforms.
