Gerald Lee Sinclair, age 77 of Clarksville, passed away at his residence on Tuesday August 11, 2015.
He was born May 13, 1938 in Adair County, KY the son of the late Marvin Sinclair and Norene Back Sinclair Tanner.
Gerald was a 1955 graduate of Russell County High School. He received his B.S. degree from Eastern Kentucky University and his M.A. degree from Western Kentucky University. He spent his career as a teacher, basketball coach and counselor in various high schools in Kentucky and Tennessee. He coached the Logan County Cougars to the Kentucky state basketball championship in 1984. Gerald was a member of the Hilldale Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon and the coordinator of the World Bible School. He was also a collector and restorer of antique metal toy soldiers.
He is survived by his wife Joyce Saylor Sinclair, as well as a daughter Carrie Harris & Steve of Clarksville; two sons, Chris Sinclair of Tampa, FL; and Eric Sinclair & Kim of Decatur, AL. Gerald is also blessed with eight grandchildren, Austin Harris, Lee, Heather, Jordan, Devan, Kade, Mason, and John Evan Sinclair.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday August 14, 2015 at the Hilldale Church of Christ with Minister Carl Sims officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.on Thursday at Gateway Funeral Home, and for the hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
