Gerald Arthur Allen “Jerry”, age 88, of Erin, TN passed away July 16, 2024, in Lebanon, TN.

Jerry entered this life on August 23, 1936, in Ferndale, N.Y, son to the late Arlene Cypert Burns and Robert J. Burns, Sr.

Gerald A. Allen was known lovingly by many names: Jerry, Sweetheart, Pop, Grandpa, Pop-Pop, Cookie Monster, and Stinker. Jerry loved to tease everyone he met, and as a child, would constantly untie his mom’s apron strings. It was his goal in life to make everyone laugh, and he was a prankster until the very end. Jerry was a veteran of the United States Army, and drove trucks for Reddy Trucking, Liberty Middletown Express, and even the U.S. Postal Service. He was a former member or SCARS (Sullivan County Amateur Radio Society), and a Ham Radio Operator.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brothers, George (Carol) Burns, Robert (Rosemary) Burns, Jr.; and his grandmother, Clara Cypert.

Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Darlene “Dolly” Baker Allen; daughters, Mary (Hal) Roeder, Lisa (Les) Baumeier, Jodi (Rob) Taylor; grandchildren, Megan Wessman, Dana Gates, Mackenzie Roeder, Brittany Carlew, Miranda Carlew, Ruth Ripley, Cameron Jackman, Kember Taylor; along with several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Jerry will be laid to rest in Monticello, NY in the Rockridge Cemetery, with full Military Honors.
