Gerald Anthony Martin, 78, of Woodlawn, TN, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at Tennova Healthcare of Clarksville.
Gerald was born on October 3, 1937, in Jamaica, NY to the late John A. Martin and Zilpha Goetz Martin. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Roger Martin.
A Rosary will be said on Saturday, August 20, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Church. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016, from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. A Mass to Celebrate Gerald’s Life will follow at the church with Father David Kennedy and Father Julian Ibemere officiating.
Gerald was a teacher for over 40 years. He retired from Northwest High school in 2002. He was also the owner and founder of Santa’s Place Christmas Tree Farm. He attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Patti Grant Martin of Woodlawn, TN; children, Maureen Hiemstra of Woodlawn, TN, Eric (Bret) Carter Martin of Clarksville, TN, Chrissie (George) Cruz of Madison, AL, and Maggie (Scott) Davis of Clarksville, TN; brother, Stephen Martin of Huntington, NY; sister, Penny Reilly of Wilmington, NC; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
