Georgia Louise Irby Carroll, age 90 of Clarksville, passed away July 28, 2021, at Spring Meadows Health Care Center.
She was born November 2, 1930 to the late Rogers Hightower Irby and Dovie Mae Clark. She was married September 3, 1948 to Shirley Edward Carroll. Ed, as he was known, passed away in 1989, leaving Georgia a widow. She never remarried.
Georgia was the owner of Skyline Lanes for many years. After she sold the bowling alley, she continued working for the new owners. She was well known for her cheerfulness and helpful ways and was always ready to lend a helping hand.
She is survived by her three children and son, Roger Victor Carroll. Two of her children, Deborah Lynn Holland and Nancy Elizabeth Guthrey, are retired and reside in Hixson and McEwen, respectively. Her son is a member of the Clarksville Police Department and resides in Clarksville.
