CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Austin Peay men’s basketball continues to up the ante this offseason.
Georgia freshman Mike Peake took to social media Tuesday, announcing his decision to transfer to Austin Peay.
Thankful for all the support I’ve gotten over the past few weeks. Thanks to Bulldog nation for endless love while I was at Georgia. Thank you to the coaches and teammates at Georgia this past year. I am committed to @AustinPeayMBB ‼️‼️ pic.twitter.com/QVE6OiSqlt

The 6-foot-8 Peake played in 24 games for the Bulldogs last season while averaging 2.3 points and 2.0 rebounds per contest.
Austin Peay men’s basketball coach Matt Figger and his staff have been on a recruiting tear as of late. They also landed former Oklahoma forward Corbin Merritt in April, giving themselves tremendous size down low.
The good news continues to pour in for Gov fans after reigning OVC Player of the Year Terry Taylor and current OVC Freshman of the Year Jordyn Adams each decided against entering the 2020 NBA Draft.
With the current NCAA transfer rules in place, both Merritt and Peake will not likely be eligible to play in the upcoming 2020-21 season.
