MAJ George P. Long III, (Ret) age 86 of Indian Mound, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, at TN State Veteran’s Home. He was born on July 27, 1933, in Gainesville, FL to George and Lutie Mason Long. He retired from the United States Army, Special Forces. George served in Vietnam, Korea, Okinawa, and Thailand. He was the recipient of 3 Bronze Stars and many other commendations.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Regina Long; daughters: Christene Stephens, Kathleen Devol, and Doris Long; grandchildren: Natalie Cross, Leslie Stephens, and Colleen Devol; and many more loving family members.
