George passed away on Sunday, Jan 10, 2016 at Grace Health Care.
Funeral service for George Howard Newton, age 68 of Clarksville, will be Thursday, Jan 14, 2016 at 12:00 pm at the Sykes Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. James Sanders will officiate. Burial will follow in the KY Veterans Cemetery West at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Jan 13, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sykes Funeral Home and on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
He was born on Jan 16, 1947 in Clarksville, TN to Jesse and Effie Fulks Newton. He attended Hilldale Baptist Church, he was a veteran in the US Navy and served during the Vietnam war, he was a retired Accountant from the Montgomery County Trustees office with over 35 years of service.
He is survived by his brother, James R. Newton; sisters, Juanita (Roy) Montgomery and Linda King; several nieces and nephews; close friends, Lee and Corinthia Elder and their children, Sharina, Silas & Savannah.
