CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – During Gateway Medical Center’s November Blood Drive, representatives from the American Red Cross presented the hospital with a Silver Level Award. It was given to businesses that achieved at least 90 percent of goal for the blood drives they hosted in 2012.

In addition, a number of Gateway employees received individual pins for giving two to four units of blood during the year.

“In our business, we see the daily need for blood,” said Gateway Spokesperson and Blood Drive Site Coordinator Benita Martin. “Its importance is ever-present in our environment. So it’s wonderful to see this level of support from our own employees. Of course, all of our drives are open to the public as well.”

The Hospital’s first Blood Drive for the new year is scheduled for January 22 from 10 a.m to 3 p.m in the Liberty Rooms. Register at www.redcrossblood.org or by calling Martin at 931-502-1100.
