Gateway’s participation in the AABB accreditation program represents a strong commitment to quality outcomes and patient safety.
The AABB surveyor commented that Gateway’s staff was a great study in team coordination working together to share tasks. The AABB assessment process is rigorous and based on a quality and operational systems assessment designed to encourage innovation and ongoing quality improvement.
Gateway Director of Laboratory Chris Baggett said, “Facilities accredited by the AABB demonstrate the highest quality and make continual improvements related to transfusion services. The standards set forth by the AABB provide best practice guidelines to ensure the safety and best outcomes for patients.”
