CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – For the protection of our patients, visitors and staff, please avoid visiting patients if you have symptoms of the flu, such as fever, nausea, cough, sore throat, chills, runny nose or body aches. Infants and children under the age of 12 should not be visiting at this time.

These visitation guidelines will be in effect through March 2014.

The single best way to prevent seasonal flu is to get vaccinated each year, but good health habits can help stop the spread of germs and prevent respiratory illnesses like the flu.

• Avoid close contact with those who are sick
• Stay at home when you are sick
• Remember to cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing
• Wash your hands regularly
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth
• Practice other good health habits: Get plenty of sleep; be physically active; manage your stress; drink plenty of fluids and eat nutritious food.
