CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Gateway Credit Union on Otis Smith Drive in Clarksville was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday afternoon, and the suspect ran from the scene.

The robbery occurred at 3 p.m. at 100 Otis Smith Drive, according to a news release from Clarksville Police spokesperson Scott Beaubien.

The suspect walked into the Gateway Credit Union holding a handgun, Beaubien said the news release. He then allegedly confronted the clerks, and an undisclosed amount of money was taken from the drawers.

The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 6-foot tall and unable to open one of his eyes fully, Beaubien said. He was wearing a black beanie, black neck gaiter and a red flannel shirt.
