Greenstein’s work incorporates text based on the poetry of Walt Whitman. Featuring indie-rock vocalist DM Stith, a small choir and the GCO, Clarksville’s world-class chamber orchestra, Our City creates a rich musical backdrop that shares a personal glimpse of our city. A joyful video montage created by visual artists Black and Jones pays homage to the people and personality of Clarksville. The commission is a collaboration with the Detroit Symphony and North Carolina Symphony.

“For our 2015-16 season finale, Gateway Chamber Orchestra creates an exciting montage using a wide variety of music, composers, soloists and visuals to highlight the people and history of Clarksville and concludes with Beethoven’s powerful masterpiece “Eroica,” says GCO Music Director Gregory Wolynec.
