CLARKSVILLE, TN – As the sun sets on February 4th, the Mabry Concert Hall at Austin Peay State University will come alive with the rich sounds of the Gateway Chamber Orchestra’s strings.
The program features the poignant ‘Adagietto’ from Gustav Mahler’s fifth symphony, a touching love letter dedicated to his wife Alma.
Jessie Montgomery has become perhaps the most programmed American composer over her recent meteoric rise to fame. GCO is proud to present her upbeat ‘Strum’ for the first time.
The journey reaches its pinnacle with Antonín Dvořák’s Serenade for Strings, a timeless classic that has charmed audiences for generations. Let the lush harmonies and sweeping melodies of Dvořák’s masterpiece carry you away, creating a magical experience that transcends time.
Conductor Gregory Wolynec says “I think our Romantic Serenade concert will be the perfect way to launch your Valentine’s celebrations. Whether you’re sharing the evening with a loved one or cherished friends, the concert promises to be a memorable and spellbinding experience. This is some of the most beautiful music ever written, and some of our favorite to play.”
Join us on February 4th at 4:00 pm in the Mabry Concert Hall for an experience of beauty, passion, and musical excellence.
