CLARKSVILLE, TN – Clarksville Gas & Water has rescheduled the North Clarksville water system improvement work to Tuesday, Feb. 10, beginning at 4 a.m. and continuing until approximately 4 p.m.
This work was originally scheduled for Jan. 27, but was postponed due to the winter weather storm.
Weather permitting, Gas & Water utility construction crews will install a new 24-inch gate valve and replace an existing water valve on a 24-inch water transmission line along the south side of the 101st Airborne Division Parkway near 2506 Whitfield Road and 2594 Pea Ridge Road.
A second project will take place simultaneously on Allen Griffey Road to shut down the Allen Griffey Booster Station for water pump replacement and to rebuild a control valve at the station.
Water storage tanks will be full prior to the onset of the work; however, low water pressure may affect a significant area of North Clarksville in the Allen Griffey Water Pressure Zone. The water pressure zone includes Fort Campbell Boulevard from Ringgold Road north to the Kentucky state line, north of the 101st Airborne Division Parkway to the Kentucky state line and the Hazelwood subdivision area near Exit 1 and Interstate 24. See the enclosed map.
An isolated water outage will also affect 2283 Trenton Road and possibly a section of Trenton Road between the 101st Airborne Division Parkway to Sequoia Lane, including the Walker Farms shopping plaza, while the work is underway.
No road closures are expected; however, motorists should practice caution when approaching the work zones and be alert to utility workers and their equipment.
Gas & Water appreciates the patience and understanding of the public for this necessary work.
