CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Services have been announced for Hopkinsville Police Officer Phillip Meacham, who was killed last week by a man posing as a police officer.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Lyle Dunbar Gymnasium at Christian County High School.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the same location.

Meacham, 38, of Hopkinsville, died Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center due to a fatal gunshot wound.

A donation fund has been set up for Meacham’s family and WKRN News 2 will participate in a fund raiser for Meacham’s family this Saturday.

Meacham’s accused killer, James Kennith Decoursey was shot and killed during an encounter with law enforcement officers Friday morning.

According to the TBI, Decoursey refused to obey commands from officers, the situation escalated and the officers opened fire.

TBI is investigating that incident.
