The State Building Commission approved the final details of the funding for the Tennessee Veterans Home slated for Montgomery County. Speaker Pro Tempore Curtis Johnson (R-Clarksville) made the announcement July 17.
“I’m very pleased to see that the State Building Commission has finalized these details for the Tennessee Veterans Home,” he said. “Montgomery County has a long and proud history of supporting those who serve in our military and put themselves in harm’s way to preserve our freedoms. This project speaks to that commitment to serve our men and women of the Armed Forces.”
The State Building Commission officially gave final approval on budget details, ensuring the project will move forward and become a reality. The 108 bed facility will provide skilled nursing care for veterans from across the state of Tennessee. The total projected cost of the project is estimated to be just under $27 million.
