CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Historic Downtown Clarksville is gearing up for the 14th Annual “Frolic on Franklin: A Celebration of the Arts” on Saturday, September 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Presented by the Roxy Regional Theater, this free event will feature dozens of artists, staged entertainment and art demonstrations, all along the 100 block of Franklin Street.

A variety of original art and handmade crafts will be on display, including paintings, photography, jewelry, clay garden items, woodwork, and more.

“We are thrilled to have Frolic on Franklin back for its fourteenth year in Historic Downtown Clarksville,” says Executive Director Ryan Bowie.  “Vendors are coming from all over the region to demonstrate, show and sell their wares during this daylong festival, with a variety of items for all ages and tastes.  Join us as we celebrate the arts in our community!”

Several booths will offer the opportunity to learn techniques directly from the artists, including jewelry making, live painting demos and large interactive painting.  The festival will also include a bake sale with proceeds benefiting the Roxy Regional Theater.

In addition to artist booths, a performance area located on the corner of Franklin and First Streets will feature live entertainment throughout the day, including the Cumberland Winds, 101st Airborne Division Band, Music for Mercy and Stuart Bonnington. Music begins at 9 a.m.

Frolic on Franklin coincides with Clarksville’s Saturday Downtown Market, which will remain open until 1 p.m.

The evening will culminate with GALA 37, a ticketed auction, dinner and official opening of the Roxy Regional Theater’s 37th season, featuring selections from the Broadway hit musical A Chorus Line.
