CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville farmer Brandon “Frenchie” French sat down to talk about his experience on CBS’s “Big Brother” with Sari and Tom on Q108, and had some rather interesting stories to tell.
When we last spoke with French, he had just been evicted from the show after lasting two weeks in the competition, missing out on the $750,000 grand prize.
He opened up to Sari and Tom about his strategy on “Big Brother”, or lack thereof, and the moment he found out he was going to be on the show.
French said the folks from CBS flew out to his farm in Clarksville, and told him they were going to conduct an interview first. Turns out, they had brought a key with them to the “Big Brother” house to give to French, which is presented to every contestant who is invited on the show.
Before his interview with the folks from CBS, farmer “Frenchie” had to feed his goats.
“So they came with me, and I went to go fed the goats, and I looked down and before the feed started falling out of the bag – thank God – I look down and there’s this key, and the tag is like, ‘Welcome to “Big Brother,” and I lost it,” Frenchie told Sari and Tom.
He also spoke about being a massive fan of the show prior to starring in it, and that he’s seen every season.
“Everything that I’ve watched for 20 years was right in front of me,” he said of his experience.
However, French did add that what America saw on the show was not totally reflective of him as a person.
“I’m so laid back and nonchalant about things. I like to laugh, and they showed me as like this paranoid, aggressive person,” French said.
Sari and Tom also asked French about his plans for life after the show, and how he plans to use his platform moving forward.
“So I partnered with a charity called Hearts of Reality, and they work with Give Kids the World, and they do things for terminally ill kids through the Make-A-Wish foundation,” French said.
“And I knew that that was going to be a big part of me because my family, we have lost a son as well, so we know that feeling of losing a child and I wanted to be able to give back to that and help these people get through their situations and help these kids know that they’re special, because at the end of the day, that’s what’s important.”
French said he put all of his clothing that he wore on the show up for auction, the proceeds of which will go to those charities.
The interview first aired Monday morning, but you can tune in to hear the full interview again Tuesday morning at 6:50 a.m.
Sari and Tom in the Morning airs from 6 to 10 a.m. Monday-Friday on Q108, 107.9 FM.
