CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (ESPN CLARKSVILLE) – Over the next few months, the coaching staff of the Clarksville Academy high school football team will be hosting a series of free middle school camps.

The camps will be free of charge and open to all middle school players in Montgomery County and the surrounding counties.

Head coach JD Sellers believes it will play a vital role in the development of middle school players as they prepare for the high school level.

“Our goal as a staff is to grow the game of football in Clarksville. It starts with the middle school age and we want to grow the interest, build the knowledge, and improve the ability of the players through the city of Clarksville. These camps give us the opportunity to do that,” Sellers said.

Sellers, who coached at the division one college level for seven years, will be joined by his talented coaching staff for the camps.

“When you look at the amount of championships our coaching staff has won collectively, we’ve won a combined 11 championships. This camp gives young players the opportunity to learn from the most qualified and most successful coaching staff in this area,” he said. “As we look to achieve our goal of creating a larger importance of football in this area, it gives players the opportunity to work with the most qualified teachers of the game.”

The camp series begins this Tuesday at the Clarksville Academy Sports Complex. It will run from 5-7 p.m. The camp series is a non-contact camp. Here are the upcoming dates:
