CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – During the months of September and October, the Power of the Pink Mammography Van will visit Wal-Mart locations across the area to provide women with free mammograms.
Participants will also receive a pink CFL light bulb and $5 Wal-Mart gift card. Walk-up appointments are available on a first-come first-serve basis courtesy of the Saint Thomas Health Our Mission in Motion mobile mammography coach. Insurance will be filed for each participant with coverage.
Free mammograms are available to uninsured/underinsured women ages 40-64 courtesy of Power of the Pink and a generous grant from Susan G. Komen.
The van will be in Clarksville Wednesday, Sep. 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wal-Mart, 1680 Fort Campbell Blvd.
This year marks the fourth year for the Power of the Pink™ program with a goal of contributing $300,000 to local breast health initiatives throughout participating regions. Power of the Pink™ is made possible by Bimbo Bakeries, General Mills, Johnson & Johnson, Kellogg’s, Kimberly-Clark, Kraft Foods, Nabisco, Prairie Farms, Prestige Brands, Red Bull, Snyders-Lance and Wal-Mart.
