CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Brady Witcher and Brittany McMillan, the two people suspected of shoplifting at a local Walmart, aggravated kidnapping, and stealing a vehicle in Clarksville have now been apprehended in Hazelwood, Missouri.
The two suspects, Brady Witcher, 41, and Brittany McMillan, 28, are believed to be responsible for multiple crimes in the area. The couple was first identified during the Sango Walmart shoplifting incident on December 14 as well as the home invasion on Westfield Ct. on December 18. During the home invasion, the couple held two other adults against their will, not leaving the property until the early morning hours of December 19.
Warrants were secured for both Witcher and McMillan.
Home Invasion
According to police reports, at approximately 4:00 p.m. on Dec. 18, after Witcher and McMillan were able to elude police during a vehicle pursuit, the couple made their way to a residential area on Westfield Ct.
The pair located an apartment that had inadvertently been left unlocked and entered. The suspects, who had firearms, subdued two adult victims inside the home. The victims were tied up and forced into a closet. They remained in the closet until the suspects took them out sometime in the early morning of Dec. 19.
The unnamed victims were a married couple in their 20s. Officials say Witcher and McMillan then separated the two into different rooms of the apartment. A confrontation between the victims and suspects occurred.
During an altercation, a firearm was discharged. The male victim was stabbed and the female victim was able to wrestle a gun away from McMillan.
The victims were able to escape and notify police. The male was transported to Nashville and treated for the stab wounds. The female was treated for a leg injury and released from Tennova.
On the Run
Law enforcement believed the suspects fled with the victims’ 2012 GMC Z71 pickup. The truck has a Texas tag KST3558, with tow mirrors.
Prior to stealing the pickup truck, the pair is believed to have stolen a red Nissan Altima from Alabama. Police believe the Altima was taken December 16. It is a 2019 Nissan Altima SL 4S, North Carolina tag FMJ6505.
Both vehicles are still missing.
