CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Soldiers with the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) “STRIKE” were busy Monday as they began the process of loading barges on the Cumberland River on Barge Point Road, at Winn Materials, LLC, as they prepare for a training mission.

Major Andrew Colsia said the equipment will be used for the 2nd Brigade’s JRTC (Joint Readiness Training Center) rotation at Fort Polk, Louisiana. The major training exercise will take place during the month of March and will involve approximately 3,700 soldiers and around 800 vehicles.

Major Colsia talked about the help provided by Clarksville-Montgomery County. “The supporting community has been fantastic, they have bent over backwards to help us accomplish this mission so I’d like to thank the local community,” said Colsia.
