FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – For the first time in history, Fort Campbell will host a Wreaths Across America ceremony Saturday, Dec. 15 at 11 a.m. at the 101st Division Headquarters, in partnership with the Sunrise Rotary.
The Sunrise Rotary of Clarksville, Tenn. will place six wreaths at the Division headquarters representing the five services and one for POW/MIA. Following the ceremony volunteers will hang 101 wreaths at the T.C. Freeman Gate entrance.
The wreaths will be placed in honor of fallen service from WWII, Vietnam, the Gulf War, Humanitarian/Peace Keeper Missions and the Global War on Terrorism.
Fort Campbell supports local organizations’ observances of Wreaths Across America annually to include this year at the Walmart Distribution Center and the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery. However, this is the first observance hosted on the installation.
The ceremony will include remarks from Brig. Gen. K. Todd Royar, acting senior commander of the 101st Airborne Division and Fort Campbell, and Dr. Candice Coleman, Sunrise Rotary representative. The playing of TAPS will conclude the ceremony.
