FORT CAMPBELL, KY. (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – U.S. Army Garrison Fort Campbell bid farewell to Col. Jeremy Bell and welcomed Col. Andrew Jordan during a Change of Command ceremony on Monday, June 28, at Wilson Theatre.

Outgoing Garrison Commander Col. Bell recently described the position as “mayor of the city” of Fort Campbell, saying it has all the major pieces and parts that make up a city. There’s size, population, infrastructure, and then there’s the military component.

During the ceremony, the garrison colors, the symbol of the commander’s authority, were passed from Bell to Jordan, symbolizing the outgoing commander passing along the mantle of leadership.

Also participating in the passing of the colors were Fort Campbell Garrison Command Sgt. Maj. Joseph Harbour, and Brenda Lee McCullough, director, of U.S. Army Installation Management Command-Readiness.

Bell was honored for his exceptional meritorious service, and Bell’s wife Karen, was recognized for her service and volunteer support, by Gen. J.P. McGee, commanding general of the 101st Airborne Division and Fort Campbell.

Bell thanked the communities surrounding Fort Campbell and their leaders for their support.

“You are what makes Fort Campbell unique and in a lot of ways special. I’ve been around a lot of installations, and I’ve never seen a relationship quite like this. It’s always ‘How can I help Fort Campbell? How can I help our soldiers and our families?’ and that is truly appreciated,” Bell said.

Bell also praised the garrison workforce under his command, saying they are recognized worldwide for what they do, they have the best practices and push the limits of what’s possible, and they are professionals that come to work every day to serve others.

Jordan said he and his family are blessed for the opportunity to return to Fort Campbell and serve alongside the best team the Army has to offer.

“We look forward to serving the soldiers, the families, Army professionals, and the communities of the greater Fort Campbell area to make this a great place to live and work,” Jordan said.
