CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Fort Campbell Falcons hosted the Fort Knox Eagles for the 48th edition of the Army Bowl on Sept. 20 at Fryar Stadium. The Falcons scored early and often, and, powered by Keshawn Dixon’s 213 yards and four touchdowns on the ground, the Falcons won its 32nd Army Bowl, 50-12.
The defense set the tone early, causing a fumble to set up the Falcons’ offense inside the red zone, which is one of six turnovers they caused on the night. Shortly after, Dixon punched in his first score three plays later. The offense crossed the endzone three more times in the half, to take a 28-6 halftime lead.
“We saw some things on film offensively we could do with this team,” said Falcons head coach Henry Mitchell. “My hat’s off to Keyshawn and the O-line. They got out and got on their blocks, and he ran hard. I’m proud of all of them.”
The Eagles attempted to kick it onsides to start the second half, but Eric Greene had other ideas, not only recovering it, but housing it for the Falcons. Fort Campbell got two more rushing touchdowns out of Dixon before Fort Knox’s head coach asked to shorten the third and fourth quarter to four-minute running clock quarters.

“This win means everything, I mean this is a rivalry dating back to the ’70s,” said Mitchell. “Every win you want to cherish, and this is a big win for the program, the community, and the school.”
Now, the Falcons are riding a two-game win streak, and look to make a push towards a second straight playoff appearance.
“We’re taking it one game at a time,” said Mitchell. “We have to compete, practice hard, watch film study. We’re taking that approach for the rest of the year.”
