FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. – The Fort Campbell Army Education Center will host an installation-wide graduation ceremony Friday, Aug. 21.
The ceremony is for soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), family members, and civilians with ties to the Fort Campbell community.
To be eligible, students must be within 12 semester hours of graduating or who have graduated from an accredited college or university and cannot attend graduation at their school’s campus.
Often soldiers and family members are unable to participate in their college or university graduation ceremony due to deployments, permanent change of station moves, cost, or the distance involved. The installation-wide graduation ceremony affords them the opportunity to celebrate their achievement with family, friends, and fellow soldiers.
Currently 99 students from 27 different colleges and universities will participate.
Commanding General of the 101st Airborne Division, Gen. Gary J. Volesky, is the guest speaker for the graduation.
Friends and family members of the graduates are invited to attend a reception at the SSG Glenn H. English, Jr., Army Education Center, 202 Bastogne Ave., immediately following the ceremony.
The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m., Friday, Aug. 21 at Wilson Theater, located at 93 Screaming Eagle Blvd.
