FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. – The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell will host Day of the Eagles July 30, 2015, to promote unit Esprit de Corps amongst Soldiers, Civilians, and 101st Airborne Division Association Veterans, and showcase the rich history of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).
The day will be full of battalion, brigade and division-level events, beginning with a Division Run, and ending with an Honor Eagle Ceremony that will also showcase the final jump for the 101st Airborne Division Parachute Demonstration Team.
The schedule of events:
6 a.m.-6 p.m.: Unit Welcome Centers Operational
6:15 a.m.: Helicopter Display Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
6:30 a.m.: Division Run (Veterans Invited)
8:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m.: Veterans Breakfast with Soldiers at unit dining facilities
9:00 a.m.-3 p.m.: Regiment/Unit Open House (Static Displays & Tours)
9:00 a.m.-3 p.m.: Pratt Museum Open House (Soldiers in period uniforms)
9:00 a.m.-3 p.m.: Wilson Theater 101st Themed Movies
9:00 a.m.-3 p.m.: The Sabalauski Air Assault School Open House (Demonstrations, tours, rappel from inclined ramps)
9:00 a.m.-3 p.m.: McAuliffe Hall Open House
9:00 a.m.: Dryer Field House Unveiling Ceremony
9:30-10:00 a.m.: 101st Sustainment Brigade Re-designation/Patch Ceremony
10:00-10:30 a.m.: Bastogne Distinguished Member of the Regiment Inductee Ceremony
10:30-10:50 a.m.: Street Renaming Ceremony @ 35th St. and Tennessee Ave.
11:00-11:20 a.m.: Strike Memorial Dedication Ceremony
11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Lunch at Unit DFACs or Spouses @ Cole Park Commons
1:30 p.m.: Welcome Home Ceremony (Shaw Gymnasium)
3:00 p.m.: 101st Airborne Division NCO and Soldier of the Year Recognition
4:00 p.m.: Honor Eagle (DoE Closing Ceremony/50th Anniversary pinning ceremony)
