FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. – Active duty soldiers and their families will receive a special holiday delivery from FedEx and Fort Campbell’s Better Opportunity for Single Soldiers Program on Saturday, Dec. 5.
As part of the Trees for Troops program, FedEx Freight will deliver 400 live Christmas trees to help service members and their families celebrate the holidays.
Trees will be available on a first come first served basis to active duty soldiers or their spouses with a military ID card and can be picked up from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at Building 3961 55th Street, the temporary location of the Dale Wayrynen Community Recreation Center.
This year marks the 11th anniversary of the program, which brings together FedEx, the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation and tree farmers across America to deliver real Christmas trees to service members stationed across the U.S. and overseas. During the busy weeks leading up to Christmas, FedEx will deliver more than 18,000 live trees to more than 65 military installations.
Trees for Troops is part of FedEx Special Delivery, a nationwide program that supports local organizations by donating transportation services and other assistance to help them fulfill their missions. Since the Trees for Troops program launched in 2005, FedEx has shipped more than 157,000 real Christmas trees to service members and their families-covering every branch of the military at more than 65 installations in 17 countries.
