CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Fort Campbell MWR hosted Oktoberfest Friday and Saturday, a two-day event filled with activities for all ages.

Attendees enjoyed authentic German food, beer, contests and more. Vendors served a variety of items ranging from food to games. Star Spangled Brewery provided beer for a live keg tapping.

“We are super excited to bring Oktoberfest to Fort Campbell. It has been quite a while since there’s been an Oktoberfest here, so we’re pleased to be able to offer this to our families and soldiers,” said Kelly Sarles, director of MWR at Fort Campbell. “It’s just a great time for everybody to come out tonight.”

The event also featured costume contests, arts and crafts, and inflatable bouncy houses for added fun. The Oompah-Calypse Oktoberfest Band played live music throughout the event.

“This event is really exciting. It’s always fun to see the families’ faces light up when they get to experience something like this and take a break from their day-to-day routines, especially with all the stress soldiers and their families go through,” said Mandy Dixon, the Sponsorship and Advertising executive of MWR at Fort Campbell.

“Having an authentic Oktoberfest here is so exciting for the soldiers and their families. We’re really thankful for our community partners for making this happen, so everyone can have a good time.”
