FORT CAMPBELL, KY (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The middle school at Fort Campbell is closing its doors for two days this week because of a critical staffing shortage.
Mahaffey Middle School will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, according to a note to parents from Interim Principal Robert Battey and Assistant Principal Joi Gause.

They said the closure is a result of “unforeseen absences related to COVID/medical issues, bereavement leave and stranded travelers.”
Students will be able to get lessons through Google classroom on Wednesday.
“For families that are unable to connect to the Google information, this will not impact their grades or progress in class and can be received when school resumes,” the notice said.
The school should re-open on Thursday.
