FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Fort Campbell’s Retirement Services Office will host its 12th annual Retiree Appreciation Day on Saturday, September 22 at the Soldier Support Center at 2702 Michigan Ave.
The day begins with registration at 8 a.m., followed by an opening ceremony at 9 a.m. featuring the 101st Airborne Division Band and remarks by Col. Joseph P. Kuchan, Fort Campbell Garrison Commander. Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (BACH) will begin its annual health fair at 9 a.m. Retirees and spouses can receive health information as well as immunizations for influenza, pneumonia, and shingles.
Several organizations will be represented to ensure retirees receive needed information.
“This event is a one-stop shop with over 30 organizations providing information about hard-earned retirement benefits,” Personnel Processing Branch Chief and Retirement Services Officer Theodore Faulkner said.
Veterans Affairs and Tennessee Valley Healthcare System representatives will assist retirees applying for VA services and other benefits. Staff Sergeant Glenn H. English Jr. Army Education Center representatives will discuss the changes to education benefits, while representatives from BACH will discuss TRICARE benefits. The Disabled American Veterans Association and the Tennessee Veterans Home will take part in assisting retirees, as well.
Drawings for door prizes will begin at the end of the opening ceremony.
This year a “shred event” will take place at the Soldier’s Support Center. The staff will have the ability to shred attendees’ personal documents in the building from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The 2nd Brigade Combat Team dining facility will serve brunch from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. The cost is $6.25, cash only. RSVPs can be made by calling the Retirement Services Office at 270-798-3174.
Soldiers from multiple units, including the 52nd Ordnance Group and 101st Airborne Division Artillery will be on-site with military equipment to talk with retirees.
