Each boot was adorned with two tags. One tag is a photo of the fallen service member, and the other lists the soldier’s name, rank, date and location of death.
“The boots before you are the physical manifestation of the price our nation paid to safeguard our national security and the freedoms we all cherish,” said Col. Bernard Harrington, deputy commanding officer for support at Fort Campbell.
Congressman Mark Green attended the Boot Display Ceremony and Week of the Eagles.
“It’s a celebration of the individuals that make up the 101st Airborne Division, and each of their incredible sacrifices for the country. We come out here and we watch the displays and we see the troops marching, it just makes us all feel good to be Americans,” Green said.
