Forney W. Abbott, age 82, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at his residence.
Mr. Abbott was born June 28, 1940, in Palestine, TX to the late Elias Walter Abbott, Sr. and Millie Mae Hall Abbott. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Richard Abbott and his sister, Lib Abbott.
Forney is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Kathryne Abbott; daughters, Melanie (Scott) Seay, Johnnie (Mike) Friddle, and Rebecca (Josh) Lowe; brother, Elias “Bubba” Abbott; sister, Mabel Abbott; grandchildren, Scotttie (Seth) Bonecutter, Jessica (Mike) Gillis, Katie Matthews, Mickeal (Kerston) Abbott; great grandchildren, Owen Scott Rogers Bonecutter, Beau Henry Bonecutter, Raiden Gillis, Rose Abbott, Leigh Abbott, Bennett Abbott.
Forney was a family man whose love is evident in all he did for his wife and daughters. He was an avid fan of baseball, who never turned a child away from the game. He was a leader and mentor to many youths and built his reputation by teaching respect for peers as well as the game.
A Graveside service will be held in Forney’s honor on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. at Sango Cemetery with Pastor Jeremy Duranceau and Ronnie Welch Officiating. Friends and family are encouraged to attend.
