CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Two former officials with the Woodlawn Little League have been accused of stealing funds from the organization for personal use.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), Gary Wayne Scott, 41, is wanted for theft in connection to an incident involving the Woodlawn Little League.
An arrest warrant says Scott was the league treasurer between October 2017 and April 2018 and intentionally took funds from the little league account to use for personal gain. Records indicate he allegedly took $900 without permission from the league.
Scott is 5 feet 11 inches, 188 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. His bond is $2,500.
The second suspect, Kenneth Dean Griffy, 57, was taken into custody on November 7, 2018 and charged with theft. His bond was set at $2,500.
According to his arrest warrant, Griffy was the league president between October 2017 and April 2018 and intentionally took funds from the little league account to use for personal gain. Records indicate he allegeldy took $900 without permission from the league.
“It’s very discouraging to see individuals who are willing to stoop so low they steal from children,” said Sheriff John Fuson. “I hope this sends a clear message to anyone who might be thinking of doing the same. In the end your criminal activity will be discovered and you will be prosecuted.”
