CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A former Clarksville Parks and Recreation employee has been indicted by the Montgomery County Grand Jury for child rape and aggravated sexual battery.

According to the indictment, John Arlton Hambley, 55, was charged with raping an 8-year-old girl between August 25, 2008 and August 24, 2009.

Hambley was arrested March 10, 2014 and booked into the Montgomery County Jail on a $25,000 bond.

A letter from the City of Clarksville’s Parks and Recreation Department dated Match 13 indicates that Hambley had been absent from work without leave since March 10 without calling a supervisor, which resulted in his termination.
