CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Former Clarksville Academy standout student-athlete and current Southeast Missouri wide receiver Jacques Wyatt III has announced he has entered the transfer portal going into his sophomore season.

After redshirting his first year on campus, Wyatt received limited playing time during the 2024-25 season. When asked what he’s looking for at his next school, he said he wants to go somewhere where he can contribute to a winning program.

“Mainly, what I’m looking for is a place I can go and gain all of my confidence back,” Wyatt told Clarksville Now. “To have an opportunity to show what I can do on the field. I’ve been at SEMO for the past two years, and while I did love it here … I just didn’t get the opportunities that I felt like I needed this past season.”

Wyatt said wherever he ends up, the program that he transfers to will gain a playmaking, 6-foot-6 wide receiver, who steps up as a team leader when called upon.

“The message to the team I’m going to join is you’re getting a ball player,” Wyatt said. “You’re getting somebody who is going to work hard and not shy away from anything thrown their way. I’m a leader, you’re getting a guy that’s going to use his voice on and off the field. … I’m going to push everybody around me to the best of their abilities regardless of the situation.”

The transfer portal will open on Monday, Dec. 9, following the selection of the bowl games, as well as the College Football Playoff field.

During his senior season at Clarksville Academy, Wyatt finished the year with 61 receptions for 929 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns.
