CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A man formerly employed by CMCSS as a custodian at Clarksville High School has been charged with child rape and aggravated sexual battery.
Timothy Kennedy, 51, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail Tuesday, Aug. 20 with a $75,000 Bond.
Sgt. Charles Gill with the Clarksville Police Department said an investigation was conducted by the Department of Children’s Services and Montgomery County Child Advocacy Center after complaints were filed in May 2013.
Elise Shelton with CMCSS said Kennedy left the school long before the initial complaints. He was employed from Feb. 2011 to Oct. 2012. Shelton said Kennedy resigned as a result of two reprimands in his file: one for the improper storage of chemicals, and the other for not accurately filing absence requests. “It had nothing to do with the charges he is now facing,” she said.
Shelton stressed that all necessary background checks, including those from FBI, TBI, DCS, and Homeland Security all came back clear before Kennedy was hired by the school system.
