CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Have you ever wondered what it would be like to play nine games but have only one matter at the end of the year? Five teams are living that scenario right now in Region 7-6A, all searching for the three playoff spots remaining.
Clarksville High and Fort Campbell are already locked into their playoff positions, while Clarksville Academy, Montgomery Central, Northwest and Northeast are all eliminated.
Here are the multiple scenarios we could see on Thursday and Friday:
Rossview Hawks: Regardless of what happens on Friday, the Hawks have clinched a playoff spot, but they are not locked into a seed. With a win, they would be at least the third seed, and with a Kirkwood loss, they could jump up to the two seed and host a playoff game. With a loss, their seeding is up to other results in the area.
Kirkwood Cobras: The Cobras have an interesting scenario going into their matchup with West Creek on Friday. With a win or a Kenwood win over Rossview, they earn the region’s two seed. If they lose to the Coyotes, then it depends on the Northwest Vikings to beat Dickson County to keep their season alive.

Kenwood Knights: What the Knights need is simple: Defeat Rossview on Thursday, then have Kirkwood defeat West Creek on Friday. Those two results would clinch a playoff berth for the Knights.
West Creek Coyotes: The Coyotes also need some assistance to clinch their second-straight postseason birth. The Coyotes need a win, as well as a win by either Rossview or Northwest to clinch a spot in the playoffs
Dickson County Cougars: While they aren’t a Clarksville team, it’s important to note their scenarios as they fight with other area teams for a spot. The Cougars could get into the playoffs with a win plus a West Creek victory, or could lose, and still grab a spot with victories from Kirkwood and Rossview.
