CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – For the third time in program history, Austin Peay State University’s football team will travel to Nashville to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores with the programs scheduled to take the gridiron, Sept. 5, 2026.

Austin Peay and Vanderbilt previously met in football in both 2013 and 2015. The Commodores join a growing list of Southeastern Conference opponents on upcoming schedules. Austin Peay has trip to Ole Miss (2021), Alabama (2022) and Georgia (2025) slated prior to the 2026 trip to Vanderbilt Stadium.

“We are thrilled to provide our student-athletes with the opportunity to play a Power Five program from the SEC and look forward to taking the short drive down I-24 to Vanderbilt for this football game,” Austin Peay Director of Athletics Gerald Harrison said. “This allows us to provide a unique and special experience for our student-athletes and our loyal supporters.”
