Floyd DeWayne South, age 76, of Clarksville, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Gateway Medical Center.

He was born in Montgomery County, TN, to the late Bud South and Ruth Milan South. Floyd was also preceded in death by three brothers, Buell South, Jr., Garner South, and Walter South; and two sisters, Eidene Karhoff and Mattie Edgin.

Mr. South was retired from the Zinc Plant and was a member of First Canaan Baptist Church.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29 at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Bro. Richard Stafford and Walter South officiating. Burial will follow at Liverworth Cemetery, in Southside, TN. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday, March 28, and from noon until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Family will serve as Pallbearers. Men from First Canaan Baptist Church will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

Floyd is survived by his loving wife, F. Bernice Ball South; brother, Bill (Polly) South, of Clarksville; and several nieces and nephews, including Lisa Conatser Seay and Tony Conatser, who were raised by Floyd and Bernice.
