CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Flora Awuku has announced she is running for City Council, Ward 6.
Awuku is a registered nurse with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. She attended the University of Texas Arlington.
“As a nurse, a life of service comes naturally and for me, I want to extend that heart of servitude to my community,” she said.
Awuku said her goal is to bring in transparency and provide every constituent the opportunity to have a say in the decision-making process by conducting polls to ensure their voices are heard.
She said she will fight to implement traffic calming measures and improve infrastructure to handle the rapid growth, aid to expand transportation and bring awareness to routes and schedules; prevent tax hikes, aid in the stopping of gentrification of downtown, bring in needed amenities and invest in the community.
Ward 6 encompasses Madison Street, North and South Riverside Drive, Kraft Street, Paradise Hill Road and Crossland Avenue.
