CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A flood watch remains in effect for Clarksville-Montgomery County and other areas of Middle TN through 7 p.m. Thursday.

Heavy rains will fall on wet ground, leading to run-off and the increased likelihood for localized flash flooding. In addition, expect rises on small creeks and streams, as well as the possibility for rises along larger rivers.

There is also a marginal risk of severe storms today and this evening. A few of these storms may become strong to severe, with damaging straight-line winds the primary threat.

There will be a break in the rain Friday, with cloudy skies and a high of 60 degrees, but showers are likely to return Saturday and Sunday.
