CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning that affects Montgomery and Robertson counties.

The warning will last through Friday night.

Rainfall yesterday has caused the Red River to rise above flood stage this morning. The river is expected to continue rising and crest today.

Officials say it is best to avoid flooded areas along the river and move personal belongings to higher ground.

Never drive through flooded roads as the depth of water may be too great to pass, even in trucks or sport utility vehicles. If you come across a flooded road, turn around.
