CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a flood advisory for northwestern Montgomery County until 6:30 p.m.
At 4:24 p.m., Doppler radar indicated heavy rain from thunderstorms.
“Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area,” the advisory said. “Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen.”
A flood advisory from the NWS means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
“Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles,” the NWS said.
