Update, 10:56 p.m.: The Flash Flood Warning has been extended until 4 a.m. on the early morning of Feb. 16.
Update, 9:49 p.m.: The Tornado Watch for Montgomery County has been canceled; however, the county remains under the remaining hazardous weather conditions:
- Flash Flood Warning until midnight.
- Flood Watch until noon on Feb. 16.
- Flood Warning in effect from tonight until around 8:50 p.m. on Feb. 18.
Update, 8:34 p.m.: The National Weather Service has now issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning that will run until 9:15 p.m.
Update, 6:40 p.m.: A Tornado Watch has now been issued for Clarksville-Montgomery County and other surrounding counties until 1 a.m. tonight, according to the National Weather Service.
Update, 5:45 p.m.: The Flash Flood Warning for Clarksville has been extended again, this time until midnight.
Update, 2:59 p.m.: The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for Cumberland River at Clarksville from 10 p.m. today to around 8:50 p.m. on Feb. 18. Moderate flooding is forecasted for the Cumberland River at Clarksville, Ashland City, Dover, as well as Nashville.
Update, 12:15 p.m.: The Flash Flood Warning has been extended until 6 p.m. tonight, and the City of Clarksville has updated the list of flooded streets in Clarksville. In addition to those previously listed, here’s the streets that are experiencing flooding:

Update: The City of Clarksville has announced several road closures and have placed barriers and signs at flooded roadways within city limits, according to their official Facebook page. Flooded roadways include Ashbury Road, Elberta Drive, Alfred Thun Road, Glenhurst, Old Russellville at Fantasy Lane, Trenton Road by Hayes, Meadowbrook, Kelly Lane, Hayes Street and Pea Ridge Road, as well as Pea Ridge and 101st Airborne Division Parkway.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville-Montgomery County area is currently under a Flash Flood Warning until Saturday, at 12:15 p.m., while also having a Flood Watch remain in effect until noon tomorrow.
At 9:43 a.m., the National Weather Service indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain in the area, and between 2 to 4 inches have already fallen. NWS says Flash Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. They did note these can be life threatening flash flooding conditions and were created by the thunderstorms.
Precautionary/preparedness actions from NWS: “Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.”
What’s to come
Later today, expect showers and the possibility of a thunderstorm. According to NWS, some of today’s storms could produce heavy rainfall, and NWS expects around 1 to 2 inches of new rainfall in Clarksville during the day. Showers are expected to carry into the night as well, with new participation amounts between 2 and 3 inches possible.
Meanwhile, the Cumberland River is expected to rise in Clarksville, and there’s still a chance it could top near the 50-foot “moderate flood” stage. It’s currently predicted to peak at 48.7 feet. As for the Red River at Port Royal, there’s a chance it rises and peaks at the 40-foot “major flood’ stage.
