CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Members of Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Chapter 18-2 planted flags at Patriots Park on Fort Campbell Blvd. this week.

The flags represent Fort Campbell’s fallen soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan since 9/11.

The flags are planted at Patriots Park each Memorial Day, 4th of July, 9/11, and Veterans Day and serve as a reminder to passersby of the sacrifices that service members at Fort Campbell have made.

This tradition was started in 2011 by City Councilman Deanna McLaughlin with flags donated by members of the community. Over the years, Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Chapter 18-2 has participated in flag planting.

Recently ,Jody Isaacs and Steve Tyrell of Journey’s Eye Studio donated 700 flags to replace the weathered flags that have been used for over seven years.

The flags will be on display until Wednesday, November 14.
