CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Produced by The Downtown Clarksville Association, First Thursday Art Walk is a free, self-guided tour spanning a five-block radius that combines visual art, live music, engaging events and more in the heart of Downtown Clarksville.

With over 10 venues, bars and businesses participating each month, the First Thursday Art Walk in Clarksville is the ultimate opportunity to savor and support local creative talent.

Art Walk will be held October 3 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the shops and galleries on Public Square, Franklin Street, and Strawberry Alley. Featured artists at each location include:

The Framemaker (705 North Second Street)
Goddesses, Living and Legendary: Malcolm Glass
Malcolm Glass is a local Clarksville artist. He will have photographs and a drawing on display.
Malcolm Glass is a widely published writer. His photographs and art work have received numerous awards in exhibitions and galleries.

The Roxy Regional Theatre – Peg Harvill Gallery (100 Franklin Street)
Peg Harvill Gallery will feature the work of Grady H. Pennington. Visitors can also purchase tickets to the current production of A Chorus Line during the ArtWalk.

Downtown Artists Co-op (96 Franklin Street)
The Downtown Artists Co-op will feature music by Stuart Bonnington and Friends. Artwork will be from new and established members of DAC.

Hudubam Booktraders (110 Franklin Street)
Hudubam will host local artist, Michell Lazov. Her various interests and styles range from paper-mache, plaster of paris, and alcohol inks to name a few.

Journey’s Eye Studio (131 Franklin Street)
Journey’s Eye Studio will host local artist, Martin Freeman. Martin Freeman is a visual artist in Nashville, TN. He explores a variety of textures using watercolor, pen/ink, charcoal, pastel, and pencil.

The Customs House Museum (200 S. 2nd Street)
The Customs House Museum and Cultural Center is Tennessee’s second largest general interest museum. It features fine art, history, and children’s exhibits. All of their art exhibits will be open and available to the public during the evening.

Edward’s Steakhouse (107 Franklin Street)
Edward’s Steakhouse is proud host various High School art students including Jannell Parada, Julia DeBrosky, and Angel Colon-Zapata from Northeast High School.

City of Clarksville: Parks & Recreation (102 Public Square)
Clarksville’s Parks & Recreation will be hosting the local artist, Tracy Bettencourt, owner/artist of Bettencourt Originals. She is an advocate for persons with disabilities, former fitness competitor, motivational speaker and APSU alumni.

Downtown Commons (215 Legion Street)
Downtown Commons Art Walk Activity will be led by Arts for Hearts co-founder Barbara Kane. Visitors will be using Gelli Print paper created by Founder Rita Arancibia. Creative collage is fun for all ages. The class is free and all supplies and instruction provided. Ages 6 and up welcome!
